This internship supports the Innovation & Funding team in monitoring funding opportunities and innovation trends critical to advancing the hydrogen sector.
What you would do
- Monitor and analyse EU and national funding opportunities relevant to the hydrogen value chain
- Support tracking innovation trends, industrial developments, investments, and emerging technologies
- Contribute to preparing briefings, reports, presentations, and analytical documents
- Assist in mapping projects, funding programmes, investors, and innovation activities
- Support maintenance and development of internal databases
- Conduct desk research on EU policy, innovation, competitiveness, and industrial topics
- Support preparation of meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Assist with organisation, coordination, planning, logistics, documentation, and communication
Eligibility snapshot
Must have
- University or advanced degree (preferred) in Social Sciences or energy related topic
- Good knowledge of the energy field
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Ability to analyse information and summarise it concisely
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong time management skills and eye for detail
- High level of curiosity and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector and membership organizations
- Meeting deadlines and providing high-quality service under pressure
Advantageous
- Previous exposure to EU institutions, EU affairs, public affairs, or European policymaking
- Knowledge of hydrogen is a big plus

Funding & Innovation Support
Monitor and analyse EU and national funding opportunities relevant to the hydrogen value chain (e.g. Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, CEF, IPCEI);
Support the team in tracking innovation trends, industrial developments, investments, and emerging technologies across the hydrogen ecosystem;
Contribute to the preparation of briefings, reports, presentations, and analytical documents for internal and external audiences;
Assist in mapping projects, funding programmes, investors, and innovation activities relevant to Hydrogen Europe members;
Support the maintenance and further development of internal databases related to funding opportunities, innovation initiatives, projects, and stakeholders;
Conduct desk research on EU policy, innovation, competitiveness, and industrial topics relevant to the hydrogen sector;
Support the preparation of meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities related to innovation and funding topics.
Administrative & Organisational Support
Assist with the overall organisation and coordination of team activities, meetings, and deliverables;
Support the planning and logistics of internal meetings, teleconferences, webinars, and stakeholder events;
Maintain and organise team documentation, shared folders, contact lists, and tracking tools;
Support data entry, document management, and reporting activities;
Help coordinate communications with members, project partners, EU institutions, and external stakeholders;
Contribute to ensuring accurate record keeping and timely follow-up on action items.
Requirements:
University or advanced degree (preferred) in Social Sciences (EU studies, Political Science, International Relations) or energy related topic;
Previous exposure to EU institutions, EU affairs, public affairs, or European policymaking through internships, traineeships (e.g. European Commission Blue Book Traineeship), consultancies, trade associations, student organizations, research projects, or similar experiences would be highly valued;
Good knowledge of the energy field – Hydrogen being a big plus;
An excellent command of spoken and written English, additional languages are a plus;
Ability to analyse information and summarising it concisely;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Strong time management skills and eye for detail;
High level of curiosity and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector and membership organizations;
Meeting deadlines and providing a high-quality service, even when working under pressure.
