What you would do

  • Follow the ITRE Committee agenda, advise Greens/EFA MEPs, negotiate with other political groups, and maintain contact with the ITRE secretariat.
  • Prepare and follow up on committee and coordinators' meetings, and contribute to legislative and non-legislative work at committee and plenary level.
  • Assist and brief MEPs on key ITRE issues, conduct research, and prepare policy papers and briefings.
  • Establish working relations with EU institutions and relevant international bodies, engage with Commission and Council services, and attend trilogue meetings.
  • Contribute to political and press work strategy in relation to budgetary policies and monitor relevant developments at EU, national, and international level.
  • Following the ITRE Committee agenda, advising Greens/EFA MEPs, negotiating with other political groups, and maintaining close contact with the ITRE secretariat;
  • Legislative and committee procedures: Preparing and following up on committee and coordinators’ meetings, and contributing to legislative and non-legislative work at committee and plenary level, including reports, resolutions, amendments, and voting lists;
  • Policy analysis and MEP support: Assisting and briefing MEPs on key ITRE issues, conducting research, and preparing policy papers and briefings on Group and Committee priority topics;

Eligibility snapshot

Must have

  • Very good knowledge of EU policies in industry, Research & Innovation, and Energy policy.
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in line with the role.
  • Very good knowledge of English and of at least one other EU language.
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility and kindness.
  • Very good writing and organisation skills.
  • Strong analytical and negotiations skills.
  • Be a citizen of an EU Member State unless an exception is authorised.
  • Enjoy full rights as citizen, have fulfilled military service obligations, and meet character requirements.

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of European institutions, EU legislation and decision-making process.
  • Experience in a political environment and multicultural surrounding; knowledge of Greens/EFA political positions.
  • Educational background in line with the function.
  • Previous experience and specific knowledge of progressive policies to green EU industry and on links between industry, trade, strategic autonomy and climate resilience.
  • Demonstrating (one of) the following competencies will be considered an asset:
  • Knowledge of the European institutions, EU legislation and decision-making process;
  • Experience in a political environment and a multicultural surrounding; knowledge of the Greens/EFA political positions, in particular in relation to the fields of competence;
  • Educational background in line with the function;
